Well what a sensational sunny Sunday and where better to be than the beach - having a great time with your kids.
Well done to all in flags - some tremendous efforts across the board and we congratulate all participants for their endeavour. Its great to see, the kids technical skills building.
A big REMINDER - we have seen a number of instances of kids not being in full Nippers kit. This has implications for us all - especially our safely policy. Please remember you arrive in nippers kit (cap, costume and rashie) or not at all.

Start Time
Please assemble at your normal stations nice and early (approx 8:50) so we can start the session on time
WHAT YOU NEED
Kit - Nippers kit is compulsory for all participants, which includes Nippers Rashies, Caps, and swimmers, so you must have these if you dont you cant participate, if you need replacement kit please come to the tent before 8.00am.
Suntan Cream - Just to remind not to forget suntan cream for the kids, it washes off with water activities and its getting hotter, there is spare Suntan Cream in the First Aid kits, but please dont forget ; &
Goggles, Towel and Waterbottle for your nippers
WHAT WILL WE DO THIS WEEK
Championship
This week will be Board Paddle – it will be the regular courses around the yellow buoys. As always for this please could we have as many helpers as possible in the water with the kids – this is just as important for the 10/11s as for the 6/7s – it gives them (and parents on the beach) reassurance.
Results from the Flags are now available. Some fantastic tussles for flags, with really good technique shown by all kids and some courageous diving for the flag! A visible improvement all round since the start of the season.
Thank you for following the guidelines:
1. You must line up at the Championship sign for your age so we can get cap numbers down - we need this so we know how many and which kids we have competing, and you get the point for participating and giving it a go. Thank you to everyone for making sure the cap number is on the cap - it makes it all much quicker at the start. BUT please remember as with the regular programme, NO CAP, NO CHAMPIONSHIP.
2. For those who come in the top 10: when you have finished, sit down and hold onto the number you are given until we have recorded your result, otherwise we risk losing it in the melee and you may not get the points!
3. You can only do the championship IF you have completed the earlier program.
Please let us know if you can see a name missing of someone who participated.
Bronzies
Keep an eye out during the coming week for an email about the prep work for next Sunday. If we can have as many of you as possible helping for the Boards Championship that would be great – because of the number of participants we are likely to have, please grab a Yellow Nippers board, rather than the big surf rescue boards (please leave these for the Red Rashies) or the Blue Nippers boards (all of which we will probably need for the 10/11s).
Education:
Our topics this half concentrate on tube and board rescues, carries and basic management of distressed patients. These are the most important life saving concepts - so please have your nippers focussed during the education discussion.
Bronzies:
Keep an eye out during the coming week for an email about the prep work for next Sunday. Remember the exam is not too far away now on 11th March.

Set Up & Pack away crew - Will be the 10's for this week.
This week, 10s Age Managers, Helpers, parents and nippers - need to ensure that you are down at the beach at latest 7:45 am to help with set up and hang around for pack away. Lets see lots of 10s parents and helpers down early on Sunday to help!

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTICES
** Safety**
Ok this is important so please read, Nippers participate at their own risk, and parents please be vigilant ESPECIALLY with the little guys (6's & 7's who are new to the swimming / paddling this year) So please make sure you have someone supervising your child, as this is your responsibility, as only you know how competent your child is in the water, and accidents can be avoided with proper parental supervision.
Just a reminder Age managers will be reinforcing No parent/guardian = no participation rule !!!

Attendance - Just a reminder being a Balmoral Nipper is a great privilege as every year we have to turn away a great number of kids and families who would love to be involved, so just a reminder every week that you dont attend it takes the place of someone who would love to be there
